Thumb Area

    • Lone Tree Council

Lone Tree Council has been fighting for environmental justice since 1978. Through education, lobbying and old-fashioned organizing, members have pressed the State of Michigan and Dow Chemical Corporation to inform and protect the thousands of people living in an area of the Tittabawassee River floodplain contaminated with dangerous levels of dioxin.

    • Michigan Resource Stewards

We are natural resource and environmental professionals continuing a tradition of service by being a voice on behalf of the sustainability and conservation of Michigan's natural resources while opposing the politicization of resource management or decisions based on unscientific principles.

Upper Peninsula

    • Upper Peninsula Environmental Coalition

As the longest serving environmental organization in Michigan’s U.P., the Upper Peninsula Environmental Coalition (UPEC) strives to preserve the unique cultural and natural resources of the Upper Peninsula through public education, the promotion of sound land stewardship, and reasoned dialogue with communities, governments, industries and others with whom we share this land.
