Sean helps MEC build and maintain relationships with lawmakers; stay abreast of new bills and legislative committee activities; and keep the organization’s member groups informed about developments at the Capitol. He bolsters his work with appointments to Michigan’s Solid Waste and Recycling Advisors workgroup, the Committee on Michigan's Mining Future and the planning committee of Solve Climate by 2030.
The Potterville native joined MEC in March 2015 after providing policy analysis and legal memos to Michigan’s Senate Majority Policy Office. Prior, Sean completed internships with Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the office of former Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette and the office of former State Rep. Rick Jones.
Complementing Sean’s experiences are a bachelor's degree with honors in biology and minors in political science and chemistry from Saginaw Valley State University, a law degree from Michigan State University and membership in the State Bar of Michigan.
When not at work, Sean enjoys reading, MSU sports, video games, a glass of New Holland Brewing’s Dragon’s Milk beer and spending time with his wife Jess, his daughter Harriet, and his dogs Delaney and Kinley.
