Marketing & Communications Director
Morgan leads the development of our brand strategy and our organizational strategic communications plan. She manages marketing; printed and online publications; audience research and analytics; media relations; social media; website development; and inter-organizational campaigns, all in the name of building power to make good policies come to be.
The Lansing resident joined MEC in August 2021 after almost a decade in museum and cultural communications. She most recently led communications at the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum at Michigan State University, where she managed a refresh of the museum’s mission, brand, and website. Morgan also worked in communications for Impression 5 Science Center and Western Michigan University's Miller Auditorium.
Complementing Morgan's career are a bachelor's degree in art history at Western Michigan University, a master’s degree in Latin American art history at the University of Colorado, and, forthcoming, a master’s of strategic communications at Michigan State University.
Rounding out her experiences is her appointment to Lansing's Arts and Culture Commission and her co-founding of Michigan Emerging Museum Professionals Network.
When not at work, one may find Morgan at one of Michigan's many beaches—like Saugatuck Dunes or PJ Hoffmaster—or marveling at its architecture—like the Belle Isle Aquarium or the Alden B. Dow Home. You may also find her at the theater or an art museum.
When at home, Morgan enjoys experimenting in the kitchen or spending time with her three cats: two giant, fluffy maine coon males and a petite gray lady.
