Three years after the Flint water crisis, childhood lead exposure remains a pervasive threat statewide as the toxin still taints millions of homes and dozens of water systems. But relief may be coming.
Last year, for instance, the state adopted rules that reduce allowable amounts of lead in drinking water. Record dollars were allocated to remove lead in homes. Meanwhile, Michigan Environmental Council has proposed several new public health policies.
