Grace Noyola

Communications Director

Grace Noyola uses the power of storytelling to connect each Michigander with the issues that the Environmental Council fights for every day. She harnesses the power of diverse communications channels—from traditional media to print to the digital world—to create pathways for advocate action that push our decision makers to protect and advance Michigan’s natural resources.

Noyola joined the staff in August 2022 after leading digital communications and branding at MAPSA - Michigan's Charter School Association for five years. There, she oversaw a complete organizational rebrand, oversaw the yearly communications strategy, led a collaborative charter school communications network, and led communications professional development for school personnel. Prior, she told the stories of student-led projects, operational innovations, and leading environmental research for Michigan State University's Department of Sustainability.

It was at Michigan State where Noyola rounded out her professional experiences. She received a bachelor of arts degree in professional writing, specializing in environmental and sustainability studies. Michigan State is also home to some of her favorite places, like its gardens, chapel, and dairy store.

When off the clock, Noyola can be found in Marshall, Michigan, where she lives with her partner Brock; cats Rosie and Leo; and dogs Roscoe and Buddy. There, you may find her gardening, painting, reading, or tackling interior design and home improvement projects. She also serves as a volunteer staff member and foster with New Hope Pet Rescue, a nonprofit animal rescue in mid-Michigan that works to save animals marked for euthanasia in crowded kill shelters, bringing them into foster care until they find loving forever homes. Since becoming a foster in 2020, she has adopted out 29 cats and dogs.
