Chief Administrative Officer
MEC is going through a significant restructuring, and we need an operations guru! We have a multimillion dollar budget that is growing in scope and complexity. We're looking to improve vertical integration of our finance, policy, engagement and communications functions. And we need to adopt a human resource model that will support our expansion into new fields of work. As our CAO you'll be mission-driven to create the strongest systems possible to support the movement that defends our environment and protects the public health. This is a senior level position offering a generous compensation package with a salary range of $65,000 - $91,000.
Communications Specialist
We've got a story to tell, and you want to author it! Our Communications Specialist helps shape MEC's message, especially in the digital world, connecting our mission to people who share our values. If your idea of a perfect night out would be getting Peggy Shepard, Tony Hsieh, and Rachel Awtrey to host a virtual happy hour for treehuggers, you might want to apply for this job. Engagement Specialist - Coalition Management

You'll apply administrative acumen and build conflict resolution skills that will help the environmental movement embrace its increasingly rich diversity without fracturing. Engagement Specialist - Detroit
Hard working and entrepreneurial, our Detroit Engagement Specialist will lead the Zero Waste Detroit coalition to make the city cleaner and greener. You'll learn from one of the city's premier environmental advocates how to shape municipal sustainability policies and work with her to build a rich and strong environmental community in Detroit. This is an entry level position offering a generous compensation package with a salary + bonus range of $30,000 - $52,000.
Policy Specialist
Rub elbows and knock heads with Lansing lawmakers as we fight for policies that combat climate change and lead Michigan to a clean energy future. If you've got a strong analytical mind and a winning personality that make you feel right at home taking in Public Service Commission hearings and hobnobbing after hours with decision-makers, pitch an application our way.
