Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council
Jennifer McKay joined the Environmental Council Board of Directors in 2018, rising to its chair.
As the policy director of the Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council, McKay guides the nonprofit on federal, Great Lakes Basin and water policy initiatives, from invasive species prevention to fracking regulations. She also oversees the Council’s pharmaceutical and over-the-counter drug drop-off program.
The Petoskey resident serves on the Great Lakes Commission, Michigan Underground Storage Tank Authority, Emmet County Local Emergency Planning Committee and Northern Michigan Area Committee.
Prior, McKay worked for the Public Interest Research Group and for the Michigan Legislature. She also previously served on the Michigan Pipeline Safety Advisory Board.
Bolstering her experiences are degrees in environmental studies and political science from Michigan State University.
