Abby Wallace

Energy & Climate Policy Coordinator

Abby shapes Michigan policy around climate change, clean energy and zero emission transportation. She does so by supporting advocacy campaigns and working with coalitions, lawmakers and member organizations to create sound legislation.

The East Lansing native joined MEC in April 2020, one month before graduating from Michigan State University with a bachelor's degree in environmental studies and sustainability. Prior, she worked with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and in research and communications for the United States Forest Service National Partnership Office and the National Forest Foundation.

Abby now lives in Lansing, one town over from where she grew up. Among her other favorite places are Grand Marais, where she has gone since she was five years old, and the state’s sand dunes, especially where forest turns into beach.

In the meantime, Abby passes time by running, hanging out with her friends and pets, and reading all forms of books — she recommends The Black Prism by Brent Weeks
