Abby shapes Michigan policy around climate change, clean energy and zero emission transportation. She does so by supporting advocacy campaigns and working with coalitions, lawmakers and member organizations to create sound legislation.
The East Lansing native joined MEC in April 2020 after working in research and communications at the United States Forest Service National Partnership office and National Forest Foundation. Prior, Abby worked with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
In May, she will add to her background a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies and sustainability from Michigan State University.
As Abby completes college in her hometown, she sometimes thinks about heading back to her favorite Michigan destinations: Grand Marais, where she has gone since she was five years old, and the state’s sand dunes, especially where forest turns into beach.
In the meantime, Abby passes time by running, hanging out with her friends and pets, and reading all forms of books — she recommends “The Omnivore’s Dilemma” by Michael Pollan.
