20th Environmental Awards Celebration
Please join us in honoring two environmental champions!
Michigan State University microbiologist Joan Rose is the 2018 recipient of the Helen and William Milliken Distinguished Service Award. A global water science expert, Dr. Rose has worked tirelessly to improve water quality. Over a 30-year career, she has investigated and raised awareness of water-quality issues throughout Michigan, across the nation, and around the world. Her pioneering leadership has greatly advanced our understanding of water quality, waterborne pathogens, and measures to protect public health.
Nancy Warren is the 2018 recipient of the Petoskey Prize for Environmental Leadership. Ms. Warren epitomizes grassroots environmental advocacy. Mixing research, conviction and diplomacy, she has devoted her life to protecting the special features of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. This passion has prompted her to ardently and successfully champion several regional causes over the past decades involving its forest, waters, habitat and wildlife.
The suggested admission contribution is $100. To donate now, use our online donation system https://www.environmentalcouncil.org/donate. If you prefer to pay at the door on the evening of the event, please make checks payable to Michigan Environmental Council.
Your support will provide vital assistance to our efforts to safeguard the health and well-being of Michigan's people and places.
We hope you will join us in honoring these two inspiring leaders while enjoying great food, Michigan beer & wine, and wonderful conversation. Returning this year: A silent auction featuring Michigan's best gear, goodies & getaways!
