Michigan scientists to Congress: Don't cripple EPA's ability to regulate climate changing pollution

Rep. Fred Upton's legislation would undermine agency's legal authority to regulate emissions for major polluters.
More than 160 Michigan scientists urge Congress to “reject any measure that would block or delay the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency from protecting the people of Michigan from air pollution and human caused climate change, both of which put public health, agriculture, the environment and our economy at risk.”


The letter comes as Michigan Rep. Fred Upton’s legislation proposes to prohibit the Environmental Protection Agency from regulating greenhouse gas pollution.
