Faye Alexander Nelson to receive Milliken Distinguished Service Award; Margaret Weber is Petoskey Prize winner
The Michigan Environmental Council invites you to attend our 12th Annual Environmental Awards Celebration on June 9. We will honor Detroit RiverFront Conservancy President and CEO Faye Alexander Nelson, who will be presented Michigan's highest environmental honor, The Helen and William Milliken Distinguished Service Award.

Margaret Weber, longtime leader of Rosedale Recycles and proponent of efforts to establish curbside recycling in the City of Detroit and close the Detroit trash incinerator, will receive the Petoskey Prize for Environmental Leadership.

A cocktail and hors d'oeuvres reception and awards ceremony will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at the Omni Detroit Hotel at River Place.

Sponsors of the event help us protect Michigan's environment through tax-deductible gifts to MEC ranging from $500 to $10,000. Sponsors are recognized in event promotional materials and public displays, on our website, and in MEC publications throughout the year.

Tickets for the event can be purchased in advance or at the door. Suggested contribution is $100 per person. Secure online donations can be made through our Support page.
